Hawaii Center for Youth Philanthropy

group retreat

This year, HCYP, a program that explores youth-driven, community-centered giving, welcomed a new cohort of youth and educators from seven schools across Oʻahu. The year began with a powerful board retreat, where students, educators, and community mentors came together to ground in shared values and co-design the path ahead. With goals this year including deepening youth leadership and working together to serve communities, the program is weaving learning and action in meaningful ways. New tools and reflection practices—like waiwai mapping—are helping students connect their projects to what matters most – centering community voices in our giving efforts. As the year unfolds, pilina and purpose remain at the center of every step forward.
